Gareth Taylor preview

The boss says Alex Greenwood is recovering well from a head injury sustained on international duty, but is unavailable for this weekend’s showdown with the Gunners.

However, Taylor says Lauren Hemp is in contention for her first start since our 1-1 draw with Chelsea after successfully recovering from a shoulder injury.

He also revealed that Demi Stokes is also nearing a return to action.

City rounded off for the international break with a hard-fought win over Leicester City.

Chloe Kelly’s early strike proved the difference at the King Power Stadium as Gareth Taylor’s side retained our unbeaten start to the new WSL campaign.

Victory was also enough to see City move to the top of the league in the process.

Arsenal also enter the tie on the back of an away victory, with a brace from Katie McCabe enough to earn a 2-1 win at newly-promoted Bristol City.

Previous encounter

City’s title prospects were dealt a significant blow in April 2023 following a slender 2-1 defeat at Meadow Park.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw had handed the visitors a deserved early lead, but second half goals from Frida Maanum and McCabe were enough to see the Gunners come out on top.
