Signed from Derby as a scholar in July 2019, Liam made an instant impact in the Under-18’s with his blistering pace and powerful number 9 play.
Following signing his first professional contract in July 2020, Liam has progressed to the EDS squad in 2020/21 as well as training regularly with the first-team
Liam made an instant impact on his first-team debut in September 2020 by scoring in the Carabao Cup against Bournemouth.
His fine 2020/21 season was capped off by winning the PL2 Player of the Year award, following 24 goals in 20 appearances in the title-winning EDS campaign.
After missing the first half of 2021/22 through injury, he earned debuts in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
He spent the first half of the 2022/23 season with Stoke City before playing the remainder of the campaign at Preston North End.
In 2023/24, Delap will be on loan at Championship side Hull City.
