Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been shortlisted for January’s Barclays Women’s Super League Goal of the Month.

City’s sharp shooter received the nomination for her decisive strike in our 1-0 victory over West Ham on 15 January.

After an evenly contested first half, the Jamaica international gave us the lead shortly after the restart when finishing off a fantastic team move.

Deyna Castellanos and Yui Hasegawa played a neat one-two in the centre of midfield before the former provided a perfectly-weighted through ball into Bunny’s path.

The 25-year-old then rounded the goalkeeper to roll the ball into an empty net – moving her back to the top of the league’s scoring charts with nine, while raising her total to 12 in all competitions.

Shaw faces fierce competition from Aston Villa’s Kenza Dali, Everton pair Gabby George and Agnes Beever-Jones, Leicester duo Aileen Whelan and Monique Robinson and Manchester United’s Rachel Williams for the award.

Since netting against the Irons, she’s added a 13th to her impressive 2022/23 tally by netting in our 6-0 Continental Cup quarter-final win over Bristol City.

And it represents the second time she’s been up for the award this term - after being nominated for October’s prize for her sublime strike in our 3-0 win at Spurs.
