Khiara Keating has won February’s Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month award.

Following a superb season so far, it represents the latest highlight for the England youth international as she secures the prize for the first time.

The goalkeeper maintained four straight clean sheets in all competition across the month which helped City record wins over Leicester (2-0), Tottenham Hotspur (1-0), Arsenal (1-0) and Chelsea (1-0) as our relentless pursuit of three trophies continued.

In our 1-0 FA Cup win over the Gunners in the capital, she made a flurry of superb saves to keep the hosts out at Meadow Park as we secured passage into the quarter-final.

Keating then continued her fine form at Kingsmeadow as we recorded a precious 1-0 win over Chelsea where she produced a jaw-dropping double save late on to help us record another shutout.

And she fended off competition from City colleague Leila Ouahabi, West Ham’s Honoka Hayashi, Leicester’s Yuka Momiki, Aston Villa’s Jordan Nobbs and Bristol City’s Amalie Thestrup to be named Player of the Month.

After winning the award Keating reflected: “February was a brilliant month for us, so winning this award feels like the icing on the cake. I’m feeling really good at the moment.

“We’re taking things game by game, week by week, so winning both our [league] games in February has taken us another step in right direction.

“I am grateful to everyone who voted. Hopefully we can continue our strong form until the end of the season.”

Congratulations on winning Player of the Month, Khiara!
