City defender Jade Rose tallied an hour of international minutes as Canada played out a 1-1 draw with Denmark.

In their first of two friendly fixtures over the course of the October international break, Rose started in their clash at the Stade Saputo in Montreal, Canada.

But after 24 minutes Rose had to help her nation find a way back into the game when Pernille Harder fired Denmark ahead.

Rose’s Canada dominated possession but were unable to find the equaliser, with Denmark on the other hand, a nuisance on the counter and looked dangerous with their limited time on the ball.

The City centre-back was replaced by Elisabeth Tse on 63 minutes and watched on as Olivia Smith drew the hosts level on 84 minutes and as a result the friendly ended in a stalemate in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The two sides will go head-to-head again on Monday 12 October in another friendly, with kick-off set for 20:30 (UK).

And on Saturday afternoon City’s Freya Hirons was a later substitute in England Under-19s’ 2-2 draw with Switzerland.

Goals Lois Shooter and Kyri Teer-Hutchins saw the young Lionesses pick up their first point in their Under-19 Euro qualifiers.
