Mary Fowler is hoping to experience the ‘amazing’ home buzz at City as the midfielder gets set for the FA Women's Continental League Cup clash with Blackburn this week.

Gareth Taylor has admitted he could rotate his team for Wednesday’s 19:30 (UK time) game with Rovers.

And that could present Fowler, a summer signing from Montpellier HSC, with a chance to once again impress.

The 19-year-old, technically-gifted with great vision and able to play with both feet, has made four appearances in the sky blue to date – in both our Champions League outings as well as in away clashes at Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

She’s yet to see action at the Academy Stadium, but she was blown away by the atmosphere as she watched on from the bench against Leicester City in our home opener.

She’s looking forward to playing in front of City supporters on home soil as soon as possible.

On seeing the win over Leicester, she said: “It was amazing.

“To have that many people come out and watch, I’ve never had that experience at a club level.

“So I am really excited to be able to get out there and experience more of it.”

City head into Wednesday’s match on the back of successive FA Women’s Super League wins over the Foxes and Spurs.

Fowler says those victories have had a hugely positive effect on the camp.

She added: “I think we all know we had a bit of a rough start but we’ve really turned it around and I think that really shows the type of team that we are.

“We are building momentum now and we are showing everyone how well we can play.”
