Donnarumma joined City from PSG last summer after helping the French side to their maiden Champions League success in the season prior.
The Italian will now face his old side at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening when two of the biggest clubs in Europe face off.
How can I watch City v PSG around the world?
It represents our second outing in this year’s League Phase, after winning at Porto last month.
Ahead of the clash, 2025 Ballon d’Or winner Dembele spoke about his close relationship with our shot stopper and the deep respect he holds for his quality.
“I’ve got a really excellent relationship and memory of him. He’s the number one in the world. Exceptional goalkeeper,” he began in Tuesday’s press conference.
“I wasn’t able to attend his wedding in the summer but we exchanged messages. He’s a great friend and great goalkeeper.
“He can change an entire team with his saves.
“I missed a chance against him when we played against Italy in the international break and he made fun of me a little bit.
“He’s a wonderful goalkeeper and he showed that even before he came to PSG.”
Our visitors haven’t had the perfect start to their domestic season and sit sixth in Ligue 1 after six games.
However, Dembele believes he and his team-mates are ready to take on a City side they respect as one of Europe’s best.
“It’s a big game obviously. Very good team, very good coach,” he said.
“It won’t be easy but we’ll be well prepared for the game.
“We’ll try to take all three points home. It’s not decisive but it’s one we want to win. We know what to expect from them.
“Manchester City are one of the top teams and they’ve got off to a flying start in the Premier League and Champions League.”
