Oscar Bobb’s superb solo goal against Red Star Belgrade has been nominated for UEFA’s Champions League goal of the week.

The Norwegian ace weaved through a crowd of bodies before slotting into the net for his first senior goal in sky blue as we beat the reigning Serbia Superliga champions 3-2 away from home.

Fellow Academy graduate Micah Hamilton broke the deadlock at the Rajko Mitic Stadium with a venomous effort in the first half before Bobb doubled our lead after the interval.

Barak Bakhar’s side halved the deficit Hwang In-beom fired past Stefan Ortega, but our two-goal lead was restored thanks to Kalvin Phillips’ expertly dispatched penalty.

Although the hosts pulled a goal back in stoppage time, time ran out for Red Star to find an equaliser as City maintained our 100% record in the competition so far this season.

Bobb’s wonderful goal has been nominated alongside Newcastle’s Joelinton, BenfIca’s Arthur Cabral and Atletico Madrid’s Samuel Lino.

The deadline for votes is 11:00 (UK) on Friday 15 December.
