Stuart Pearce, Robbie Earnshaw and Paul Dickov are our Matchday Live guests for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

City take on Forest in a 15:00 (UK) kick-off looking to make it six wins out of six to start our 2023/24 top-flight season.

The trio of Pearce, Earnshaw and Dickov will join Cel Spellman in the sky blue studio to talk about the weekend game.

Pearce is regarded as one of England’s greatest-ever defenders - a tough-tackling full-back who wore his heart on his sleeve.

He spent 12 years in the red of Forest and clocked up 401 appearances, winning two League Cups in 1989 and 1990. He was also an FA Cup runner up in 1991.

Not only that, he also played for City, becoming Kevin Keegan’s first signing as boss in the summer of 2001 before skippering the side to the First Division championship.

Pearce also had a short spell as caretaker player-manager at Forest but left the City Ground in 1997, only to return as full-time boss from 2014-15.

Prior to that, he’d been manager at City for two years between 2005 and 2007.

Earnshaw spent three years with the Reds after joining them from Derby County in 2008.

The Welshman scored 45 goals in 113 appearances for the club, helping them reach the Championship Play-Off in successive campaigns – 2009/10 where they finished third before falling at the semi-final stage to eventual winners Blackpool and 2010/11 where they ended up in sixth, this time going out in the semi-finals to Swansea.

Dickov is a hero for the sky blues and his star was at its brightest in the 1998/99 campaign.

He wore the iconic No.9 shirt and partnered Shaun Goater, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, the most important of which was his last goal of the campaign - a 15-yard, injury time equaliser against Gillingham, which helped send City on the path to promotion to the First Division.

Our Matchday Live programme, presented by Cel Spellman, will begin shortly before team news arrives at 14:00 (UK).

During the game, Alistair Mann and Shaun Goater will talk you through proceedings with our radio commentary offering.

Afterwards, we will bring you all the reaction before short highlights go live at 19:00 (UK) and extended highlights go online from midnight (UK).

There will also be a full-match replay available on CITY+ from midnight.
