City have made three changes for tonight’s UEFA Champions League game against Paris St-Germain from the side that won 3-0 at Liverpool on Sunday.

Jérémy Doku starts after scoring City’s second at Anfield while Abdukodir Khusanov and Joško Gvardiol also come into the line-up.

Iliman Ndiaye, Matheus Nunes and Nico O’Reilly all move to the bench and are joined by Phil Foden who returns to the squad after suspension.

Elliot Anderson starts his first Champions League match for City against current holders PSG as we aim to build on our 2-0 victory away to FC Porto on matchday one.

HOW WE LINE UP

Enzo Maresca has masterminded seven wins from seven matches, culminating in that superb win at Liverpool.

The personnel may change but it’s unlikely there will be too many changes to formation with Rúben Dias and Marc Guéhi building a solid partnership in the centre of defence.

Khusanov and Gvardiol are likely to be the full-backs with a midfield three of Anderson and Fernández behind the exciting attacking partnership of Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland.

Doku and Antoine Semenyo will be our wingers with the Belgian doing his damage against Liverpool from the left-hand side.

SHOOTING STAR

Erling Haaland never has any added impetus to get on the scoresheet but tonight he will overtake to become City’s top scorer in the UEFA Champions League.

The Norwegian currently has 36 goals from 40 appearances, level with Sergio Agüero who has the same number from 64 appearances.

Of the current squad, Phil Foden is in joint fourth, although he is unlikely to get the five goals he needs to usurp Raheem Sterling into fifth place, although it would be nice!

Haaland is currently eighth in the all-time top Champions League goalscorers list and a hat-trick would move him above Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Statzone

This will be the ninth meeting between City and PSG, with us winning four of the previous eight and going unbeaten in the four matches we have hosted, winning three.

Of teams they have faced 5+ times in major European competition, only against Bayern Munich (52.9% - 9/17) have PSG lost a higher percentage of their matches than against City (50% - 4/8).

PSG are unbeaten in their last 11 games in the UEFA Champions League, winning seven.  Only once having a longer run without defeat in the competition: 13 matches between October 2012 and November 2013.

They could become just the second team to go 10+ consecutive games unbeaten against English sides in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League without losing after Real Madrid between 2011 and 2017.

PSG made the most high turnovers (14) and shot-ending high turnovers (7) of any side on MD1 of the new UEFA Champions League campaign, as well as averaging the most possession (72.1%).

No team made more successful crosses from open play than City on MD1 of this season’s Champions League (5 – level with Inter Milan), while our open play crossing accuracy was the highest of any side to attempt 10+ in the opening round (35.7%).

Since the start of last season, Vitinha leads all midfielders in the Champions League for completed passes (1,703), line-breaking passes (327) and possession won (106 times).

Rayan Cherki has averaged 4.1 defensive line-breaking passes per 90 minutes for City in the UEFA Champions League. Since the start of last season, this is the second highest average of any player in the competition (min. 300 minutes played), only behind Lee Kang-In (4.5).

Ousmane Dembélé has been directly involved in 31 goals in 41 UEFA Champions League games (20 goals, 11 assists), now the fifth most for the club in the competition, trailing only Kylian Mbappé (65 in 64 apps), Neymar (37 in 41 apps), Edinson Cavani (33 in 54 apps) and Ángel Di María (32 in 54 apps).
