City were back on the training ground within 24 hours of an impressive 5-1 win over Luton Town.

An early own goal saw Pep Guardiola‘s men take a one-goal lead in at the break, before a flurry of second half strikes secured a comfortable win at the Etihad.

Mateo Kovacic‘s stunning half-volley doubled the advantage just after the hour, before an Erling Haaland penalty extended our advantage.

Ross Barkley pulled one back for the visitors but late strikes from Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol set the seal on another impressive performance from City.

But with another huge Etihad encounter on the horizon this Wednesday, there was no time to celebrate a win that put us back on top of the Premier League table for at least 24 hours.

On Wednesday, City host Real Madrid for the second leg of our UEFA Champions League quarter-final with the game finely poised at 3-3 on aggregate.

Guardiola‘s men pulled off a stunning 4-0 win at the Etihad against the 14-time champions in last year’s semis, and will be hoping for a repeat performance under the lights this time round.

However, with Madrid the runaway leaders at the top of La Liga, we’ll need to be at our best to reach the last four once again.

It all points towards a thrilling clash, and City were hard at work in both the gym and on the pitch to ensure we go into Wednesday’s tie in the best condition.
