Jeremy Doku believes he's improving every time he takes to the field for Manchester City.

The Belgian winger was a constant menace during Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.

Coming in from his left wing position, Doku dribbled through the heart of the Magpies side on several occasions.

The 21-year-old has now played 31 times since his summer move from Rennes scoring five goals and producing six assists.

Pep Guardiola described Doku as ‘brilliant’ after the game and the youngster echoed those sentiments when asked about his own performance.

“It felt good, I’m happy with the performance of my team, the performance of myself,” he said.

“I feel like I’m getting better and better. We scored important goals, we defended well, attacked well, very happy.

“We were in control but you never know with the counter attacks, they have some fast players and they want to run in behind.”

Doku was beaten to the Man of the Match award by Phil Foden, who is enjoying an exceptional campaign.

With City still in the hunt for the three biggest trophies available, the England international reiterated how eager the players are to back up the success of 2023.

“We were always talking about [winning more trophies]. The hunger’s still there. We’ll keep going,” he said.

“It’s one of the best squads I’ve ever seen. At this stage of the season we’re going to need everyone.”
