Jeremy Doku provided two assists as Belgium beat Azerbaijan 5-0 in their final Euro 2024 qualifying game.

Roma striker Romelu Lukaku scored four with the other coming from Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard as the Red Devils picked up three points to overtake Austria and finish top of Group F by a solitary point.

Doku, in inspired form during the exciting encounter in King Baudouin Stadium, provided the cross for Lukaku’s first goal on 17 minutes and also the pass for Trossard’s final goal on 90 minutes.

In between times, Lukaku – who played against City in the 2022/23 Champions League final for Inter before heading out on loan to Jose Mourinho’s side this term – bagged three more.

He thundered home a shot on 26 minutes, nodded in the third on 30 minutes and then produced a fine finish on 37 minutes to notch up his and the team’s fourth before Trossard’s late effort.

The result meant Doku’s Belgium concluded their campaign on 20 points from eight games while Austria, top at the start of the day with 19 points, finished second – with both teams qualifying for the tournament which takes place in Germany next summer.

Elsewhere, Rodrigo‘s Spain qualified top of Group A, after seeing off Georgia 3-1 on home soil.

Efforts from Robin Le Normand and Ferran Torres, coupled with an own-goal from Luka Lochoshvili helped Luis de la Fuente’s men to the three points needed to hold off Scotland, who finished second after their 3-3 draw with Norway, who were without Erling Haaland.

Our marauding midfielder played 86 minutes at Valladolid’s Jose Zorrilla Stadium before being replaced by Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi.

Portugal had already made it through to Euro 2024 comfortably from Group J after flying through qualifying.

But they put a lovely gloss on the campaign with a 2-0 win over Iceland in Lisbon as they finished top with a maximum 30 points from 10 games – a full eight points ahead of second place Slovakia.

United’s Bruno Fernandes scored the opening goal of the game at Estadio Jose Alvalade and it was set up by City midfielder Bernardo Silva on 37 minutes.

Braga winger Ricardo Horta, a 62nd minute replacement for Bernardo, put the tie to bed with a second four minutes after coming on.

Ruben Dias was also in the starting line-up, as he played the full 90 minutes for Roberto Martinez’s men.
