Erling Haaland has won the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Boot, awarded to the player that has scored most goals in the campaign.

The Norwegian hit a record breaking 36 goals this season, finishing six ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

He becomes City’s third winner in the history of the Premier League after Sergio Aguero’s 26-goal haul in 2014/15 and Carlos Tevez’s 20 in 2010/11 that saw him share the award with Dimitar Berbatov.

It adds to an incredible haul of records and honours in Haaland’s first season at City.

The 22-year-old has been been voted as the Premier League Player of the Year, Premier League Young Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year.

Haaland set a new record for most goals in a single campaign with his 35th goal of the league campaign against West Ham earlier this month.

That saw him go beyond the 34 goals scored by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer in 1993/94 and 1994/95 respectively, when the league comprised of 42 matches per season.

His hat-trick against Wolves in January took him to 18 home goals in the Premier League, the most any player has ever scored at the Etihad Stadium in one season. He finished the campaign with 22 league goals at home.

He has scored six hat-tricks in total this season, with four coming in the Premier League.

The three before that Wolves match were scored in consecutive home games against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United.

That saw him become the first player in Premier League history score a hat-trick in three consecutive home games.

He also eclipsed the previous record for quickest to four Premier League hat-tricks by an incredible 46 matches, taking just 19 games compared to the previous best of 65 by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Haaland started life at City in an exceptional manner, with his nine goals in August more than anyone has ever previously managed in that calendar month.

With just the FA Cup and Champions League finals left to play, our No.9 has racked up 52 goals across all competitions in his first season at Manchester City.

He became the record holder for most goals in all competitions by a player at a Premier League club when he passed Mo Salah and van Nistelrooy’s best totals of 44.

Congratulations to Erling on another incredible achievement and an exceptional first season in the Premier League.
