Enzo Maresca says he and his players are fully prepared for a tough test at Liverpool on Sunday.

City go to Anfield in a 16:30 (UK) kick-off following a near-three week international break.

Having won all five games so far, we sit top of the early Premier League table while our hosts are also unbeaten.

Haaland: We have to stick together, enjoy the ride and smile!

The two sides have often produced entertaining clashes, with Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp in particular going toe-to-toe in several title races through the years.

And Maresca knows it won’t be straightforward on the pitch this weekend too – but he says we have the players to cope with the occasion.

“It will be a tough game for sure. Tough test. We need to be ready,” he said in Friday’s press conference.

“The focus has to be about the game but also we know the environment in Anfield is nice and probably it will be worse because of the situation, but we will try to do our best to win the game.

“Absolutely they [the players] can face the pressure. Absolutely. We have players that have experienced similar situations.

“I don’t know, Enzo Fernandez has played in Argentina. In Argentina, it’s almost every game to go to Anfield.”
