Having made his professional debut at West Brom in 1998, he then embarked on a lengthy spell in the game that took in the likes of Juventus, Sevilla, Olympiacos, Malaga and Palermo among others.
During that period, Maresca’s native Italy won the World Cup in 2006 and reached two European Championship finals.
