Bernardo Silva said it was so important to celebrate Manchester City’s title success because winning it four times in a row it was so difficult.

City fans lined the streets of Manchester for our bus parade after clinching the Premier League title as well as an opportunity to celebrate our FIFA Club World Cup and European Super Cup triumphs.

It’s been an historic season as we rewrote the record books by becoming the first English men’s team to win four titles in a row.

Our Portuguese star made a vital contribution again, winning his sixth Premier League in seven years at the Etihad Stadium.

And after being a key part of our Treble campaign, he said that trying to get a record fourth league title was extra motivation.

“For sure, it was a record we wanted to go after, something never done before, we’re so proud because it’s something that’s so difficult,” he said at the title parade.

“We’re very happy. Thanks [to the fans] for coming. It’s a pleasure to be here once again and great to see the support of these fans every day.

“Once again we can celebrate, thank you very much.”

While the season ended with an FA Cup disappointment at Wembley, Bernardo added that, while it’s a frustration to not claim another trophy, the fans and squad can focus on our huge achievements.

“Obviously last night was frustrating but we have to forget that and celebrate four in a row,” he said. “It’s been a very good season for us.”
