City will be well-represented at the 2019 World Cup in France, with eight players chosen for England's Lionesses squad.

Karen Bardsley, Steph Houghton, Abbie McManus, Demi Stokes, Keira Walsh, Jill Scott, Georgia Stanway and Nikita Parris have all been selected by Phil Neville, as England look to build on their bronze medal success of 2015.

Scott will be competing in her fourth World Cup tournament, while McManus, Stokes, Walsh, Stanway and Parris will partake in their first.

Houghton, who made her 100th appearance for her country in November 2018, captained the Lionesses to a third-place finish at the 2015 tournament in Canada and a semi-final spot at the 2017 Euros in the Netherlands.

Neville’s side have been pitted in Group D against Scotland (9 June), Argentina (14 June) and Japan (19 June), on the back of their historic SheBelieves Cup triumph earlier this year.

Congratulations to all, who have been chosen.
