Manchester City can confirm Abbie McManus has left the Club.

The Prestwich-born defender - City’s longest-serving women’s team player - enjoyed a 12-year career in sky blue, with the 26-year-old having represented Manchester City Ladies before the Club turned professional.

Since the relaunch in 2014, McManus clocked up 111 appearances, scoring three goals - including two Goal of the Season contenders.

The defender helped Nick Cushing’s side to two FA Cups, two Continental Cups, a league title and two Champions League semi-finals.

Having represented England at youth level, she earned her first call-up to the senior Lionesses squad in February 2018 and has been selected in Phil Neville’s World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament in France.

Everyone at the Club would like to thank Abbie for her contribution and we wish her the best of luck in her new adventure.
