Georgia Stanway and Ellie Roebuck are set to make their senior international debuts, having received call-ups to the England squad, ahead of the Lionesses' upcoming games against Austria and Sweden.

The youngsters – two of seven City stars to be selected in Phil Neville’s team – had been invited to take part in a SheBelieves Cup training camp earlier this year to gain valuable experience but did not feature.

With Stanway currently enjoying an impressive run of scoring form of six goals in three games, including a hat-trick against Brighton, many have called for the forward to step up from the Under-20s and onto the first-team stage.

Roebuck has also gained plenty of senior experience, stepping into Karen Bardsley’s boots with the Lionesses’ regular shot-stopper currently sidelined.

Another historic milestone may also be on the horizon, as England’s game against Austria on Thursday 8 November could mark skipper Steph Houghton’s 100th appearance for the Lionesses.

The defender received the captaincy in April 2014 and has since led her country to a World Cup bronze medal and the semi-finals of the European Championships.

Abbie McManus, Jill Scott, Keira Walsh and Nikita Parris make up rest of the Blues’ seven representatives.

Meanwhile, Esme Morgan has also been called-up to the Lionesses’ newly-introduced Under-21s squad for a training camp at St George’s Park.
