Izzy Christiansen will celebrate a City milestone as she makes her 100th Club appearance against Sunderland.

The 26-year-old Macclesfield-born midfielder joined the Club in February 2014, having transferred from Birmingham where she enjoyed a five-year spell after starting her career with Everton.

An integral part of Nick Cushing‘s side, the England star, who has bagged 30 goals for the Blues, has played a pivotal role in four trophy successes - two Continental Tyres Cups, a Super League title and an FA Cup - and a Champions League semi-final spot at the first attempt.

She famously netted in the 2014 Conti Cup and 2017 FA Cup Final triumphs – the former the matchwinner as City clinched a first piece of major silverware.

Admired for her dictation of the game and eye for goal, Christiansen is a fans’ favourite and deservedly earned a call-up to the senior England squad in September 2015.

She then scooped a treble at the Club’s 2015 End of Season Awards night, claiming the Etihad Airways Player of the Season, MCWFC Supporters Club Player of the Season and Vitality Fitness prizes, before being named the Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year the following April.

A key contributor in the Blues’ accomplishments, the midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal in September last year, having already extended her contract in March 2016.

On the international stage, she has become a regular name in the Lionesses’ starting XI and featured in the 2017 Euros – her first major tournament.

She becomes the third City star to reach 100 appearances since the Club re-launched in 2014, after Steph Houghton and Jill Scott.

A true role model, Christiansen is an inspirational figure and crucial member of Cushing’s side. She is the Club’s current top scorer for the 2017/18 campaign.

Everyone at the Club wishes to congratulate Izzy on her 100th appearance.
