Former City defender Martin Demichelis says Sergio Aguero is getting better and better.

Demichelis, who won three trophies with the Blues during a three-year stay, admits he is a huge fan of his ex-teammate and close friend from his days at City and with the Argentina national team.

Aguero is on track for his best ever season with the Blues, having already bagged 25 goals this campaign, with 11 coming in his last 10 games.

Demichelis says scoring goals is in Sergio’s DNA and that as long as he plays, he will find the back of the net.

“Sergio has been scoring, goals, goals and goals since he was 15,” said Demichelis, now on Malaga’s coaching staff.

“Maybe at this point he’s back in the spotlight because of the insane amount of goals he’s scoring - he makes it look easy!

“I’m very happy for him, I love him, he’s humble and a fantastic boy.”

Demichelis believes the arrival of Gabriel Jesus has taken Kun’s performances to a new level in the past two years.

The young Brazilian has provided the perfect competition for Sergio who has responded to the challenge magnificently.

He also believes Jesus will become a great striker for City as he will continually learn from a player Demichelis believes is one of the world greats.

“After Gabriel Jesus’ arrival, Sergio has being dealing so well with this healthy rivalry,” he said.

“Kun has everything, technically, physically and mentally. Day after day we’re enjoying a better version of him which is fantastic not only for City but for Gabriel, too.

“I hope Sergio can keep breaking records, scoring goals and inspire City to many more trophies in the coming years.

“As a City fan, that will make me very happy!”
