Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts has joined Girona on a season-long loan.

The winger signed for City from Fulham in the summer of 2015 and made his Blues debut as a second-half substitute in a 4-1 win away at Sunderland a few weeks later. He played two more matches in quick succession, before going on loan to Celtic for 18 months.

His form in Glasgow was impressive. By the end of his first six months, Roberts had an SPL title to his name, and his first full season ended with a superb domestic treble as Celtic went the entire campaign unbeaten.

In 2017, he re-joined Celtic on a season-long loan deal, and despite a hamstring injury hampering his progress, he made 19 appearances as they won their second-consecutive treble.

In total, he made 79 appearances for the club across a two-and-a-half-year period.

The 21-year-old’s move to Girona will see him test himself in La Liga, one of the world’s most technical leagues, which the Club feels is the ideal next stage in his development.

Everyone at City wishes Patrick all the best during his time in Girona.
