Sharks, squirrels, nuts and City starlets feature in our latest edition of Things We Love…

#SharkTeam

Shark fever has well and truly hit Manchester. Benjamin Mendy has kicked off a craze.

The Champions League visit of Napoli to the Etihad Stadium heralded the return of inflatables to the City stands… and the trend has spread across the Club.

This quintet were spotted at an Academy game, while Sunday’s women’s game against Birmingham has been billed as #SharkTeam Sunday!

Jawsome! (Sorry…)

Access denied

You won’t be surprised to know Mendy was rather vocal on social media during City’s Carabao Cup clash against Wolves.

He was particularly impressed with Claudio Bravo’s display – and rightly so!

Squirrelled away

From sharks to squirrels…

This little creature caused havoc in Tuesday night’s encounter.

As kick-off approached, this daring squirrel raced onto the pitch to try and join in the warm-ups – much to the dismay of the City groundstaff!

Having tried (and failed) to coax the intruder off the pitch, they eventually had to scoop him up before delivering him to safety!

Young Lions

England Under 17s’ semi-final success in the World Cup has sparked major cause for celebration.

A stunning 4-1 victory over Brazil booked the Young Lions’ place in Saturday’s final, with three City youngsters all playing a part.

Phil Foden, Joel Latibeaudiere and Curtis Anderson produced impressive displays and are set to feature in the final against Spain…

Good luck, lads!

Nuts!

We all love a good nutmeg – and Sergio Aguero certainly enjoyed humiliating Mikel Arteta in training…

Cerra las piernas Mikel Arteta 😬😬 ! Close your legs Mikel Arteta 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ !!

Million milestone

It was a landmark day for the Club when City defeated Burnley 3-0.

Not only did the Blues equal their all-time winning streak, the Club also hit a million YouTube followers, becoming the first British club to do so!

We’ve celebrated with a live countdown, congratulatory messages from YouTubers around the world, and videos of Yaya Toure unboxing the plaque and reliving the journey to a million…

But our Head of CityTV and Social Media Michael Russell summed it up rather nicely…

Great Scot

City’s women’s team have been away on international duty with 14 Blues jetting off around the world.

Claire Emslie, who joined City in summer and has made an excellent start to life in sky blue, has recently broken into the senior Scotland set-up and netted her first competitive goal for the first-team in some style in their 5-0 triumph over Albania…

On fire…d!

If you’re a fan of the Apprentice, you may have noticed the latest episode took place during the FA Women’s Cup final at Wembley between City and Birmingham.

Contestants were tasked to design and deliver a hospitality event for the game, which the Blues triumphed 4-1!
