Manchester City youngster James Horsfield has signed a one-year contract extension that will see him remain at the Club until June 2018 and joined NAC Breda on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who played three games on loan at Doncaster Rovers last season, will join fellow Blues Ash Smith-Brown, Brandon Barker, Thomas Agyepong and Manu Garcia at the Dutch side.

He has been a regular in the EDS side this season, operating predominantly as a right-back but also popping up at centre-half and in midfield.

Horsfield, from Hazel Grove, was named in City’s senior squad for the trip to Leicester last season and was part of the 32-man party that travelled to China for the Club’s pre-season tour.

NAC are currently fifth in the Eerste Divisie table having beaten Utrecht 2-0 on Monday evening.

Everyone at the Club is delighted James has signed a new deal and we would like to wish him well on his move to NAC.
