Manchester City’s loan stars are continuing to make waves across Europe after EDS goalkeeper Billy O’Brien reached a final this weekend.

O’Brien was between the sticks for St Mirren as they saw off Welsh champions The New Saints with a 4-1 victory in the semi-final of the IRN-BRU Cup. O’Brien and his teammates will face Dundee United in next month’s final.

Over in Spain, Eliaquim Mangala was in impressive form at the back for relegation threatened Valencia as they overcame Athletic Bilbao by two goals to nil.

Samir Nasri played the first 70 minutes in Sevilla’s comfortable 2-0 home victory over Europa League contenders Eibar.

Dropping down a division, Angelino played the full match as his Mallorca side were beaten 1-0 by Pablo Maffeo’s Girona, although Maffeo remained on the bench throughout.

In Holland, Enes Unal and Bersant Celina both played for FC Twente in a 1-0 win over Heerenveen while Yaw Yeboah was an unused substitute.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was a second half introduction as PSV looked to solidify their lead against NEC Nijmegen and they eventually won 3-1.

Zinchenko played again on Monday night, this time for PSV’s second eleven, as they sealed a 2-0 win against the NAC Breda of Brandon Barker, Ashley Smith-Brown, James Horsfield and Manu Garcia.

Elsewhere, Joe Hart conceded four as Torino fell to a heavy defeat against Edin Dzeko’s Juventus-chasing Roma.

In England, both Wilfried Bony and Jason Denayer had the weekend off as their respective Stoke and Sunderland sides were already out of the FA Cup.

As you may already know, Aaron Mooy was unavailable for selection when his Huddersfield faced City.

Finally, David Faupala was involved for Chesterfield as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against relegation rivals Bury.

That’s all for this week’s loan watch but we’ll have regular updates on the progress of the players on mancity.com!
