Thanks to Nissan, one lucky fan gets their dream City day...

The players have spoken! Raza’s our home mascot…

After three weeks, 11 specialist art classes and more than 200 entries into a competition to find a mascot for the Sunderland home game, we have a winner.

The creative contest, organised by Official MCFC Partner, Nissan, saw schoolchildren across Manchester invited to design their dream Nissan Juke, personalised by taking City as their inspiration.

Up for grabs was the ultimate City fan’s prize – the chance to lead the team out of the tunnel and centre stage on to the famous Etihad pitch, ahead of the match against Sunderland on January 1.

Raza Mohammed, a Year 6 pupil at Rolls Crescent Primary School in Hulme, will be kicking off New Year in true Blue style.

He’ll be treated to a specially-created Nissan City home Mascot Experience, which includes match tickets, a full team strip, a tour of the Etihad Stadium, access to the home team changing room and the chance to take a shot against City’s goalkeeper in front of a roaring home crowd.

Taking inspiration from the Club’s beginnings and Mancunian heritage, Raza’s design is in the Citizens’ iconic blue and features a symbol taken from the arms of Manchester – a golden eagle.

As a Club with roots firmly in the local community, Rolls Crescent is just one of the schools that Manchester City FC’s award-winning City in the Community (CITC) regularly works with to help empower lives through football.

Manchester City FC ambassador, Mike Summerbee, said: “It’s been great fun judging this competition. We’ve been very impressed with the creativity the young people have shown

and it was really difficult picking only one winner. We’ve chosen Raza’s picture because of its simple yet original design. Well done to everyone who took part.”

James Gordon and Max Myers-Davies are set to experience a taste of City magic at the Black Cats clash too. They were picked as runners-up and will be joining Raza and the boys in the tunnel as player escorts.

Now it’s your turn to get involved. It’ll be tough to miss it, but keep your eyes peeled for a very special Nissan Juke in City Square. There’s a treat for one game only as Nissan is giving away a shirt signed by the squad.

Entering is easy. Tweet a picture of yourself with the car using the #MCFCJuke hashtag and follow @NissanUK.

The car will be in City Square from midday and right up to kick-off so you’ll have plenty of time to get your photos in.

For all those fans watching the Black Cats clash here at the stadium or at home, make sure you look out for Raza, James and Max as they make their well-deserved pitch debut.

Don’t forget to bring your mobile phone with you and get tweeting too, there’s a signed shirt up for grabs! Now that’s how you kick off a New Year.
