Man City Esports became the first club to lift the ePremier League trophy twice after Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt and Matias Bonanno fought off Brighton in the final.

Tekkz also made history as he claimed the title for a second time in his career, making him the first player to do so.

Mati took the English league by storm on his debut and became the first pro to win three different leagues having already been crowned the eLibratadores and eLaLiga champion.

The day started off with City Esports taking on tough opponents Tottenham Hotspur. Tekkz, on Xbox, was up first and looked to give Mati a comfortable lead.

And he did just that as he cruised past Lyricz with a thrilling 5-0 win. Mati then overcame Tom Leese on PlayStation with a 2-0 win to be the first team to qualify for the final four.

Next up, in the semi-final, City faced Luton Town and it was Mati’s turn to return the favour in giving his team-mate Tekkz a favourable advantage.

An emphatic 6-0 victory over Luke Downing by Mati meant all Tekkz had to do was control possession. And he did as he held out a 0-0 draw against Harvey Wxters as City progressed to the final without conceding a goal.

Looking focused and composed it was Tekkz up first in the final against Brighton. An intense 1-0 win over Jayden Groden meant Mati still faced a tough challenge ahead in Marley.

Mati dominated the first half and was unfortunate not to see any of his shots hit the back of the net as he peppered Brighton’s box.

Late into the second half Marley scored which meant extra-time beckoned with the aggregate score 1-1.

And in the second half of extra-time, fortune favoured City after Marley failed to clear a threatening corner and as his players clashed in the box, Mati used none other than Erling Haaland to pounce on the loose ball and bag the winning goal.

The triumph means Tekkz and Matias Bonanno have qualified for the eChampions League and the eWorld Championships.

After the final Tekkz and Mati were overjoyed in their post-match interview and the former was full of praise for his team-mate who came in clutch in extra-time.

“That was intense!” Tekkz exclaimed!

“That was the most I’ve ever celebrated in my life. They say you make your own luck and I think we did in that final a little bit. IT should have been over early but Mati’s got the ice and in extra-time, that’s Mati Bonanno!

“I want to say thank you to City as well, they put a lot of trust in us to get the ePremier League title and we did just that.”

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Tekkz and Mati on their achievement!
