Matias Bonanno and Man City Esports have qualified for the eChampions League Finals after the Argentinian secured his place in the quarter-finals.

Bonanno progressed to the knockout stage of the prestigious competition after he placed second in Group C.

Three wins and one loss meant nine points was more than enough for Mati in a tough group.

First up he faced FK Zalgiris Vilnius’s Domasas. Bonanno was able to fight off the nerves of playing on the European stage and finished victorious with the score 4-2 at full-time.

A difficult second group game saw him fall to a 6-2 defeat to group leader, and last year’s champion, Emre Yilmaz of PSV Eindhoven.

But back-to-back 4-1 triumphs against ACF Fiorentina’s Virgil and Borussia Dortmund’s Feldman meant Bonanno was through to the Round of 32.

A difficult task awaited Bonanno as he faced FC Famalicao’s Rikhard who took a quick 3-0 lead.

But Bonanno remained focused and managed to pull off a phenomenal comeback and won 6-4.

In the Round of 16, Bonanno dominated in his match against AFC Ajax’s Levi De Weerd. Come the full-time whistle, Mati won 5-3.

This means Bonanno is in the final eight and will face Juventus’s Danipitbull in the quarter-finals which will take place on Wednesday 29 May at Magazine, London.

If Mati wins his match, he will progress to the semi-finals where he could face either FC Lorient’s Montaxer or SC Paderborn 07’s Jonny.

On the other side of the draw, Emre Yilmaz, his team-mate Manubachoore, RB Leipzig’s Levyfinn and Cadiz CF’s Dfernandes will fight for the other spot in the final.
