The initiative will officially launch at Manchester City’s Premier League match against Ipswich Town on 17th October.
Supporters will be able to access a dedicated City Let’s Talk matchday pop-up service, delivered in conjunction with Samaritans Manchester & Salford [MW1] .
A further series of matchday pop-ups will place at Premier League home fixtures throughout October, November and December.
Alongside this, the Club is launching mancity.com/lets-talk, a new online resource hub which provides ongoing information about mental health initiatives supported by the Club and CITC as well as links to confidential support available from recognised specialist suicide prevention and mental health organisations for supporters in the UK, Greater Manchester and internationally.
What to Expect at the Ipswich Town Fixture
As part of the launch, supporters attending the match against Ipswich Town on 17th October are invited to visit the City Let’s Talk pop-up, located outside W Door in the Colin Bell Stand, where trained Samaritans volunteers will be available to offer confidential, non-judgemental support.
The service will operate from two hours before kick-off until 30 minutes into the first half, with the aim of creating a welcoming space for fans to talk, seek support, or learn more about the Samaritans.
Supporters do not need to be in crisis to access the service. The initiative is designed to encourage everyday conversations about mental health and wellbeing, while helping to normalise reaching out for support.
