Manchester City’s charity, City in the Community (CITC), has been celebrating the festive period with a series of Christmas parties.

Special events for CITC participants were held at the City Football Academy and in the Etihad Stadium to help bring people together, spreading joy and festivities.

38 participants from CITC’s Walking Football and ReminisCITY programmes were invited to the stadium to enjoy a Christmas dinner, whilst listening to some live music from Martin (Manchester City Tours Team) and his band, Band Age.

More than 500 primary school participants were also invited to a Winter Wonderland event, full of fun and festivities. Participants were able to take part in inflatable darts football, Zorb football, arts and crafts and much more.

Each participant also received a Manchester City boot bag full of goodies, including hats, socks and a football.

One teacher who attended the event said: “Both staff and children came back to school full of excitement. They had such a great time!”

CITC’s younger City Play Together participants enjoyed some arts and crafts, fun games and a story from Santa with their families, as part of an Early Years party for children under five.

They even had some very special guests, Moonchester and Moonbeam, surprise them.

One family commented on the event saying: “We had the best time. It is such a great opportunity for all the children to be able to do these things and I just want to thank you very much for letting us be part of that. The event was amazing throughout the whole day with plenty of activities for the children to do.”

CEO of City in the Community, Michael Geary said: “For some Christmas is a very difficult time of year, so it is so important for us to support the local communities.

“It is always a pleasure to open the doors to the CFA for several Christmas parties and to see the faces of participants from aged 2 to 82 enjoying some festive fun is truly rewarding and what we are all about here at CITC.”

Thank you to Joie who donated some prizes for families who attended the party.
