Supporters braved the daunting heights of the stadium’s East Reception turrets, all in the name of a fun with funds raised going towards CITC’s mental health programme, City Thrive.

Fans from the age to eight, to 93 took part in the event, which was sponsored by Nescafe Azera.

Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, Sam Dainty, said: “We have been overwhelmed with the level of support fans have given the charity today.

“Not only did people push their minds and bodies to the limit, but they did also it whilst raising thousands of pounds to support young people in Manchester. We’d like to thank everyone who took part or donated.

“This was our first Etihad Abseil, but we can definitely see it becoming a new fan favourite and look forward to giving even more people the chance to scale the heights of the stadium again in the future.

“We’d also like to express a huge thank you to Nescafe Azera, whose support has helped to make this event as impactful as possible.”
