Manchester City face Reading in the U18 Premier League on Wednesday at the City Football Academy but where will the match be decided?

Lee Carsley‘s side will be hoping to register their second victory of the Merit Group A in the U18 Premier League when the Royals come to Manchester.

Who will play a key role?

Lorenzo Gonzalez v Akinwale Odimayo

City’s Swiss youth international has 13 goals in 19 appearances in his first season in English football - a stellar return from the 17-year-old.

His powerful running and eye for goal from any angle have played a crucial role in Gonzalez’s excellent form.

He’ll be up against a dominant and composed presence in Akinwale Odimayo on Wednesday but should Gonzalez look to run the channels for the Blues it’s likely to be a very close foot race.

Tyreke Wilson v Joel Rollinson

Australian-raised Rollinson is a pacey, direct winger and as a second-year scholar will be looking to use his experience to spur his side on.

Ireland U19 international full-back Wilson isn’t short of experience himself and has shown since his return from injury that he hasn’t lost his pace.

Wilson is always full blooded in the tackle and likely to press Rollinson high up the pitch in order to win the ball back for City as soon as possible.

City’s U18s will welcome Reading in the U18 Premier League with kick-off at 11am on Wednesday 3 May. Follow the match on mancity.com and @ManCityAcademy!
