Ahead of Sunday 11 December's derby, Steph Houghton and Laura Coombs return to the Etihad Stadium to reflect on the first professional meeting between City and United.

It was the blue half of Manchester who came out on top on that occasion in September 2019, with Caroline Weir’s wonder strike enough for the win.

And a momentous occasion for City was witnessed by a crowd of over 31,000, an attendance which remains a Club record to this day.

However, ahead of only the second Women’s derby to be played at the Etihad, over 40,000 supporters are expected to make their way through the turnstiles.

It’s sure to be an historic occasion for City, and something to rival the incredible scenes from that 1-0 triumph three years ago.

Houghton and Coombs were part of the team on that day, and will both be keen to make an impact on proceedings when the two sides lock horns on Sunday 11 December.
