Sandy MacIver says signing for Manchester City will make her a better player after joining on a three-year deal from Everton.

The England goalkeeper believes being a part of Gareth Taylor’s squad will propel her game to new heights and admits the opportunity to improve was a decisive factor in her decision to move to the Academy Stadium.

MacIver, who played for City in her youth, is keen to reach the next level in her career and says being surrounded by so many established internationals will help her do that.

“For me it’s important that I take my game to the next level and I think training with and learning with the calibre of players here as well as the coaching staff will help me do that,” she told mancity.com in her first interview.

“I am lucky enough to train with some of the girls at England and to be able to work with them now on a day in day out basis, I think I will learn so much from them and I really do think they will help me take my game to the next level.”
