The Blues enjoyed our most successful season to date, claiming a league and FA Cup double for the first time in our history.
City had ultimately fallen short of our lofty standards in 2024/25 and were looking to challenge for top honours once again with new Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz.
Exciting new signings were brought in hungry to prove themselves in the WSL, bolstering an existing squad of top international talent.
But few outside the City Football Academy truly believed the Blues could mount a sustained title challenge.
The likes of Arsenal – the reigning European champions – and Chelsea – a side aiming to win the WSL title for a seventh successive year instead dominated pre-season predictions.
As we all know, though, it was City who came out on top in that battle – leading the way from mid-November and equalling our best-ever WSL points haul en route to the title.
Statement victories were claimed over Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Gutsy victories were earned against Liverpool and London City Lionesses.
It didn’t matter how we got the result, Jeglertz’s side always seemed to find a way to win.
