Khiara Keating was pleased to pick up a point against Chelsea, but admits she and her team-mates were disappointed not to hold on to all three.

Gareth Taylor‘s side, reduced to nine players after both Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp were sent off at the Joie Stadium, were leading 1-0 deep into stoppage time thanks to Chloe Kelly‘s spectacular early drive.

Guro Reiten would earn the visitors a point in the 96th minute with a close range strike, but City came out of the clash with tremendous credit after a dogged defensive performance.

Keating was at the centre of that, earning the player of the match award for her exploits.

And while we couldn’t quite hold on for the three points, our stopper believes the draw could prove valuable in the long run.

She said: “Obviously we’re devastated to only get the point, as a team we were so together with 11, 10 or nine players.

“It was an important point and could help us towards the end of the season.

“We definitely aimed for the win but showed togetherness on the pitch when we couldn’t get it.

“We held onto the draw and didn’t lose it.”
