We host the Las Blancas at the Joie Stadium on Thursday 1 October with kick off set for 20:00 (UK) as we hope to gain our first three points in the UEFA Women’s Champions League this season.
It’s only our second game of the campaign following a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on the road last week.
But Thursday’s clash is the first of two tough tests for City this week, with Arsenal visiting the Etihad Stadium for an exciting Barclays Women’s Super League head-to-head on Sunday.
However, the City boss insisted that his side will continue to focus on the task at hand before turning our attention to this weekend’s meeting.
“I think one of our strengths last year was that each game was as important as the other one,” he said.
“It means the coming game is the one we put all our energy on.
“This is the same now. Champions League or WSL, we have been very good in what we do in training sessions and preparing in meeting rooms - that’s how we’ve been focusing.
“I haven’t mentioned Arsenal, that comes on Friday.”
