Watch the comprehensive highlights of City’s superb 4-0 Barclays Women’s Super League victory over Bristol City.

With title rivals Chelsea in UEFA Champions League action, Gareth Taylor’s side knew a win would open a six point gap at the top of the table ahead of the reigning champions – albeit with more matches played.

However, against a Vixens side who needed a win to avoid relegation at Ashton Gate, it was set to be a difficult evening for the Blues.

Despite carving out a swathe of chances in the first half, a combination of valiant hosts defending and fantastic saves by Shae Yanez meant the opening 45 ended goalless.

But a spectacular Mary Fowler strike from range broke the deadlock 15 minutes after the restart - before the Australia international doubled our lead when sliding home Lauren Hemp’s cross.

It was exactly what the visitors deserved, and an unfortunate Amy Rodgers own goal followed by Alex Greenwood’s first of the season set the seal on a fine evening in Bristol.

The victory also saw City equal the longest winning run in WSL history, with this our 14th success in a row as our title bid continues to gather momentum.
