Watch the bitesize highlights from City’s strong 4-0 win over Durham in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

In what was our first assignment of 2024, Gareth Taylor’s side secured passage into the firth round of the prestigious competition thanks to goals from Lauren Hemp, Jill Roord (two) and Mary Fowler.

The visitors started strongly and took the lead in front of a sold out crowd at Maiden Castle when Chloe Kelly’s cross found Coombs who produced a fantastic volley into the net.

Claire Ditchburn’s side defended well after the early set back, but we doubled our advantage shortly before half-time when Roord entered the box and sent a stinging effort into the top corner.

REPORT | DURHAM 0-4 CITY

The Netherlands international continued to pull the string in the second half and netted her second of the afternoon when entering the box and deftly dinking over Naoisha McAloon.

Although 17 places separated the sides in the football pyramid, the hosts still packed plenty of quality and continued to defend heroically.

However, Mary Fowler finished the scoring on the cusp of full-time when she drilled home her first of the season.
