In just our third season as a professional outfit, Nick Cushing’s side delivered a dominant 2-0 win over reigning champions Chelsea to seal our first-ever top flight title with a game to spare.
A then-record crowd of 4,096 watched the hosts take the Londoners apart, beginning when Jill Scott’s header – via a Katie Champman deflection – found its way into the net after the half-hour mark.
City came into the tie knowing a point would be enough for the title, but number two would follow early in the second half to all but seal the crown.

It was Toni Duggan who grabbed it, sending Rebecca Spencer the wrong way from 12 yards after Lucy Bronze had been brought down in the Chelsea area by Gilly Flaherty.
A poignant moment for Duggan and City, given the forward had scored our first goal as a professional outfit back in April 2014.
Cushing’s side would see out the victory to claim the title and cue incredible celebrations among players, staff and fans.
And just over one month later, a draw with Birmingham City on the final day would ensure we finished the season unbeaten, conceding just four times in the process.
