Rodrigo has praised Erling Haaland after the striker battled through adversity to score and help the team to a 1-2 Premier League victory over Sheffield United.

The striker missed a golden chance in the first-half from the penalty spot, striking the base of the post with his spot-kick.

Just after the interval, our number nine missed the mark again, this time directing just wide of the post from Kyle Walker‘s cross but he got the goal that his play deserved shortly after the hour mark.

The hosts then levelled with five minutes to play, before Rodrigo struck a superb late winner.

“I think he [Haaland] was great in the sense that he never lost the face,” said Rodrigo.

“Sometimes, I was speaking to him to not drop, because sometimes it is frustrating, being surrounded by so many players.

“Of course, they grab him, they man mark him a lot. Then he missed the penalty, which he’s not used to.

“At the end he scored. He was decisive. This is what the top players do.”

The Spaniard also spoke about our perfect start to the league campaign, and touched on how it feels to have Pep Guardiola missing from the group following the boss’ back surgery.
