Pep Guardiola says he isn’t concerned by recent results, and believes City are close to reaching our usual high standards once again.

We go into Sunday’s clash at Kenilworth Road looking to return to winning ways after a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, which followed three successive draws against Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The boss admitted that City were second best at Villa Park, but that he’s generally been satisfied with our level of performance in recent weeks.

And Guardiola has highlighted the importance of a positive result against the Hatters to get us back on track.

“It’s a football game and in this moment we’re not the best in the world because we’re not getting results,” he explained in his pre-match press conference.

“In two or three weeks we’ll see, it’s important to come back and play our level.

“Against Aston Villa they were better than us and deserved the victory but we’re not far away and in a good level.

“The next two games are so important before we go to Saudi Arabia to play the [FIFA Club World Cup] finals.”
