Pep Guardiola says City’s objective is to win our remaining Premier League matches, regardless of playing before or after our title rivals.

Ahead of our latest league assignment against Luton tomorrow, only one point separates us in third place from league leaders, Arsenal.

By locking horns with the Hatters at 15:00 (UK) at the Etihad Stadium, we have the chance to move to the division’s summit, potentially temporarily, with both the Gunners and second-place Liverpool playing on Sunday.

However, the boss believes the fixture schedule is irrelevant at the business end of the term with every team vying for precious points.

“It doesn’t matter [who plays first] - we have to do the same job,” Guardiola explained.

“In the title race in the past, we have played first and last - it doesn’t matter, you have to win your game.

“We have to [concentrate on Luton]. The Premier League is so important. We have to be ready. It has been 11 months fighting for the title and we know the position we are in so that we cannot drop points.”
