Pep Guardiola believes his team have shown great character in previous matches at Anfield during his City tenure.

The two sides have enjoyed some dramatic tussles in recent seasons, with Liverpool the only club to stop City winning each of the last five Premier League titles.

In the last three campaigns, both sides have won one match each at Anfield with the third a 2-2 draw in April.

Injury news | Liverpool v City

Guardiola‘s men return to Liverpool this weekend sitting in second place behind Arsenal, while our hosts are down in tenth after a stuttering start.

The manager is proud of the way his players have conducted themselves previously against Jurgen Klopp’s team and expects similar on Sunday.

“I have the feeling that always in Anfield we behave really well,” he said.

“You have to behave at the top level, especially without the ball and be active for second balls.

“But in Anfield, if we are winning or losing always we play with huge personality when we go there.”
