Pep Guardiola says one of the key factors in City’s trophy-laden spell of success is everyone being on the ‘same path’.

Guardiola has overseen a remarkable 16 major honours during his time in Manchester – the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the Super Cup, five Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, four League Cups and two Community Shields.

The boss believes this consistent collection of cups year after year would be ‘impossible’ without togetherness in all areas of the organisation.

“You don’t have success if two elements of the club are not together. It’s impossible,” said the manager.

“One player, one manager, everything.

“Every detail has to be in the same path, aligned all of them, otherwise it’s more, more difficult.

“Not difficult for a short period but for a long period it’s impossible.

“People think it’s the manager because he is here but that’s insane. It’s no sense.

“It comes from the top and choosing the right department, the best people with the same idea.

“After that, the rest is a question of work, work, work.”
