Erling Haaland’s 60th minute strike earned the 10-man Blues all three points in a determined performance at Old Trafford after Phil Foden’s red card midway through the first half.

After an even exchange in the first 20 minutes, Foden was sent off when he reacted to Bruno Fernandes’ kick in his back with two feet to the stomach of the Manchester United captain.

The Blues gave as good as we got from that moment on, restricting United to just three shots on target in the entirety of the game.

And the key moment came on the stroke of the hour, when Haaland expertly turned Gvardiol’s cross home.

A three-minute VAR check followed with the officials eventually deciding the Norwegian’s goal could stand.

We weren’t done there and could easily have extended our lead through both Haaland and Enzo Fernández.

It wasn’t needed in the end though, with City taking all three points thanks to the Norwegian’s ninth goal in just 11 Manchester derby appearances.
