In what was manager Enzo Maresca’s first league game since taking charge at the Etihad, City staged a remarkable late comeback, scoring twice in the final six minutes to claim a precious three points.
Marcus Tavernier had struck first on 26 minutes to give the Cherries the lead – and with time running out seemingly all three points.
City though, again demonstrated our capacity for fighting until the very end.
After creating several fine chances, the Blues claimed a deserved 85th minute leveller through Marc Guéhi’s header from substitute Rayan Cherki’s corner.
And a memorable comeback was then sealed a minute into stoppage time when Joško Gvardiol struck from close range – Cherki again the creator.
Though the effort was initially disallowed for offside, a subsequent VAR check saw the strike allowed sparking scenes of wild celebration at the full time whistle.
We’re back at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, 5 September when we face Coventry City with tickets still available here.
