To celebrate his 32nd birthday, here's our City Studios tribute to King Kev...

Originally aired in February, KDB was finally back fit and firing for Manchester City after almost five months out.

Kevin De Bruyne: Return of the King, follows the 32-year-old’s journey back to full fitness.

The Belgian’s season got off to the worst possible start in August when a hamstring injury led to his substitution in the first half of our Premier League opener with Burnley.

However, after undergoing surgery and extensive rehabilitation, our No.17 returned to the pitch in January.

Since then, he’s looked back to his best with two goals and seven assists in eight appearances.

City fans made their feelings known to our midfielder as he warmed up on the touchline during our Premier League victory over Sheffield United in December.

Seeing their hero for the first time elicited the loudest cheer of the day and he got similar treatment when he stepped foot on the pitch just over a week later, claiming an assist 17 minutes after coming on in an FA Cup defeat of Huddersfield.

He was the star of our comeback success at Newcastle United, scoring the equaliser before setting up Oscar Bobb’s dramatic winner moments before the end.

With the corner for Nathan Ake to see us past Spurs and an assist for Julian Alvarez in the win over Burnley, De Bruyne was subsequently voted our January Etihad Player of the Month.

Already a legend of the Club having been pivotal to a trophy-laden era, he is now on the hunt for more silverware in this campaign.

We were there every step of the way as the 32-year-old worked with our medical staff in order to be fully fit as soon as possible.

In this feature, we go behind the scenes to see how De Bruyne‘s recovery was managed as he worked closely with Manchester City’s medical staff, including physiotherapist and rehabilitation expert Tom O’Malley, in order to return to full fitness as soon as possible.
