Julian Alvarez has firmly established himself as the latest world class talent from Argentina to have made a defining impact at Manchester City.

Since joining the Club from River Plate in 2022, the striker has become a key component in Pep Guardiola’s squad, helping City win the Big Five of Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FA Cup across an incredible 2023.

Of course, the link between elite talent from the South American footballing powerhouse that is Argentina and City is a long and illustrious one.

Over the past 15 years or so, a host of world class players from Argentina have gone on to make their mark at the Club.

All-time record scorer Sergio Aguero, the iconic Pablo Zabaleta, the warrior like Carlos Tevez, the formidable defensive duo of Nicolas Otamendi and Martin Demichelis and ever-dependable goalkeeper Willy Caballero are just some of the defining Argentine players to have left a lasting impression at City.
